Specialist schools

Some children identified with particularly complex special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) may have their needs met through our specialist school provision.

About specialist schools

We have six special schools in the borough.

Brent Knoll School

Brent Knoll School is a mixed primary and secondary school for pupils aged 4–16.

Drumbeat School

Drumbeat is a mixed all-through school. It is for pupils aged 5–19 with Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The school is also the base for ASD services in the borough.

Abbey Manor College

Abbey Manor College provides educational programmes for 11 to 19 year-olds who do not conform to conventional education.

New Woodlands School

New Woodlands School caters for children aged five to 16 with behavioural, emotional and social difficulties.

Watergate School

Watergate School is a mixed primary school for pupils aged 3 – 11. It caters for pupils with severe learning difficulty and profound and multiple learning difficulty. The school is accessible for non-ambulant pupils.

Greenvale School

Greenvale School is a mixed secondary school for pupils aged 11–19. It caters for pupils with severe learning difficulty and profound and multiple learning difficulty. The school is accessible for non-ambulant pupils.
