The Household Support Fund
From September we’re working with our trusted community partners, Age UK, Lewisham Foodbank, Citizens Advice and Thames Reach, to support households experiencing financial hardship who need help with their utility bills and who do not have children in receipt of free school meals.
Families whose children receive free school meals
Your household will receive £15 per week for each child who receives free school meals, for 7 weeks of school holidays: spring half term and the summer term. The 2024 Easter holidays were covered from the previous fund.
You’ll receive the funding directly from the school.
Contact your child’s school if you have any questions.
Sustainable support
With previous Household Support Fund phases, we had to provide cash payments, which only supported people for short periods.
This time we’re able to fund longer-term schemes like debt advice and support with benefits.
If you need support and you would like to talk to someone, we are launching a range of drop-in advice services across the borough in partnership with Citizens Advice Lewisham. Cost of living gives you locations, days and timings.
If you want to check what benefits and concessions you may be entitled to, access BetterOff Lewisham, our tool for extra help, as well as advice on debt, budgeting, jobs, and childcare. Watch this video to see how you can use BetterOff Lewisham.
