Notice of review of polling districts and places

Notice is hereby given that the London Borough of Lewisham is conducting a review of all polling districts and polling places for use at all statutory elections held within the borough. 

The review will commence on Friday 13 September, and will be completed in sufficient time to enable the Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) to make any alterations necessary to the register of electors before the Full Revised Register is published on Friday 31 January 2025.

The Acting Returning Officer (ARO) for the 3 Parliamentary constituencies within the London Borough of Lewisham will make proposals for amendments to the existing polling districts and places, to be submitted to Council for approval. During this review, the ARO will consider all representations received during this review, as well as any feedback received during elections since 2021.  

Timetable

13 September 2024   Publish Notice of holding a review and start of consultation period
 14 October 2024  Start of ward consultation meetings 
 25 October 2024             Deadline for representations
 14 November 2024  Publish ARO’s revised proposals, applying representations and feedback
 22 January 2025  Formal meeting of the council to approve the new proposals
 31 January 2025  Publish the electoral register using new polling districts

Consultation – have your say

All electors residing within The Parliamentary constituencies of Lewisham North, Lewisham East, and Lewisham West & East Dulwich, are entitled to make representations on the ARO’s proposals or to submit their own proposals. 

We welcome the views of residents, especially those with a disability or with expertise in accessibility arrangements. In addition, we will seek the views of organisations or groups with expertise in various disabilities that can benefit from specific accessibility arrangements. 

Any representations for rejecting a proposed polling place should, if possible, suggest an alternative venue. 

Representations must reach us by 5pm on Friday 25 October 2024. 

Please note that all representations received must be published alongside the final report. Personal information, such as name and address, will be redacted.
